Country-rock musician Sturgill Simpson will be coming to Austin’s Frank Erwin Center on Saturday, March 28th as part of his 2020 Sturgill Simpson: A Good Look’n Tour. The show is set to begin at 7:30pm with an opening performance by fellow country artist Tyler Childers. General admission tickets start at the price of $92 and will increase as the show draws near so jump on those tickets now before they sell out!

Sturgill Simpson was born in Jackson, Kentucky and started out as the leader of the music project Sunday Valley, which combined multiple genres including rock, jazz, electronic and country. Simpson gained greater recognition as a solo artist with his breakout debut album High Top Mountain which was released in 2013. The next year, his album Metamodern Sounds in Country Music was listed on Rolling Stone’s “50 Best Albums of 2014” as well as “NPR’s 50 Favorite Albums of 2014”. Simpson produced Tyler Childers’s debut album Purgatory in 2018 and as of last Friday, the two have kicked off their tour together.

The tour is in support of Simpson’s latest album Sound & Fury which really takes his music to the next level with a noisier rock & roll style and shows just how versatile of an artist he is. The project includes a collaboration with Japanese director Junpei Mizusaki on the creation of Netflix anime film Sturgill Simpson Presents Sound & Fury which is based in a post-apocalyptic world and includes music from the full album.
